Hawk invites you to take a ride on a fantasy carousel with an idyllic angel, set against this 90’s rock – inspired track. Listen once and you’ll be humming Hawk’s music all day long. We all need “She’s an Angel” right now.
‘She’s An Angel’ is an ode to Desire and speaks to a yearning for union on the physical and spiritual realms; elevating the beloved to the universal. In the recording I was inspired by Bob Dylan’s ‘thin wild mercury sound,’ but the press has likened it to ‘A high-tech Power Pop descendant of the Byrds.’
Inspired by avant-garde and new-wave filmmakers, the video envisions the Angel as a dark and numinous being, evoking mystery and transcendence in the thickly-layered and colorful psychedelia of the California summer – a strange and alluring fever-dream come true. — HAWK
