Song Premiere: The Golden Roses’ “Smell the Roses”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of the Golden Roses’ song “Smell the Roses” from their forthcoming album. “Smell the Roses” was produced and engineered by Grammy nominee Adam Odor at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberly, Texas.

“Smell the Roses” is John Mutchler on vocals and guitar; Heather Rae Johnson on fiddle and backing vocals; Troy Wilson on bass; Shawnee Rose on drums; and features Zachary Moulton of Mike and the Moonpies on steel guitar. The Golden Roses make songs that might best be categorized as “encouraging country.”     With inspirational high points supporting life’s lows, the Golden Roses’ latest album is well worth your time.

I had the melody and idea in my head for awhile, but just couldn’t bring it to life. It all came together after falling in love. The song is about my life lived, and the choices I made both good and bad, all leading up to the moment I truly found happiness. Looking back on it all, I wouldn’t change a thing. – John Mutchler//The Golden Roses
