Video Premiere: Love Me In The Dark’s “Baby Bird”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of duo Love Me In The Dark’s video “Baby Bird. The song was produced by Steve McCormick, mixed by Johnnie Burik, and mastered by Ron Boustead. “Baby Bird” was written by Steve McCormick, and is Steve McCormick on lead vocal, all guitars, and keyboards; Heather Donavon on backing vocals; Ricky Cortes on bass; Michael Jerome on drums; Tim O’Gara on kubing; and Peter Fox on sitar.

The video was shot and produced by Drew Elder with additional footage by Sally Long, Steve McCormick and Heather Donavon.  With a foreboding lead-in, and dramatic interplay between shadows and light, “Love Me in the Dark” emulates a dream state.  And the video follows suit.

Baby Bird is the song that won Heather over when Love Me in the Dark duo Steve McCormick and Heather Donavon were courting. Little did they know it would also foreshadow the birth of their son Donovan. In Drew Elder’s video, Love Me in the Dark “shadow dances” behind a curtain, looking mysteriously like two birds nurturing their hatchling. — Love Me In The Dark
