Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Phil Gammage’s “Wandering Stars” from his forthcoming album It’s All Real Good. It’s All Read Good is an acoustic offering, produced by Tony Mann, with Phil Gammage on vocals, guitar, and harmonica, and Tony Mann on percussion
The video was produced by PreFab International Ciné with cinematography by Tyler Adams, and features actors Gary Knox (The Deuce / HBO, The Irishman / Scorsese) and Brandy Noir, and was filmed in Brooklyn Heights, which, like the album, has more than its share of gothic fiction elements. In a minor key, macabre-sounding arrangement, the video heightens the drama as its black and white shadows emphasize the dark and the light. It’s All Real Good will be the most dramatic, most wry member of your collection this fall.
Like all of the tracks recorded for the new album, ‘Wandering Stars’ is acoustic. Producer Tony Mann and I decided to let my voice carry the songs and keep the production minimal.
Brooklyn Heights in New York City was the perfect filming location for this video with it’s incredible urban elegance — it’s a unique place. There’s a fantasy element there with it’s lovely gardens, promenade, and Utopian skylines of Manhattan viewed across the East River. — Phil Gammage
