Americana Highways is pleased to host this premiere of Holly Auna’s EP Harmonies for the Heart, performed by Holly Auna with Ryan Oetken on guitar. The EP was engineered by Mat Poole and recorded at The Amber Sound (https://www.theambersound. com/). Soon, the duo is going back into the studio to record the “Harmonies for the Heart – B sides” which will fold this EP into a full length album.
“Secrets” is one of those songs that’s immediately contagious, with its pleasant harmonies and head bopping rhythms: “Why don’t you tell me all the secrets you keep?” “Home to Me” is a ballad designed to shower your lover with love. “Until I Try” is a nostalgic, ethereal heady song of guarded hope — you’ll never know until you try. “Already Lost” is a downward stepping “I was trapped in a slow disaster.. I was lost when I found you.” The EP is a collection of open, affectionate songs where harmonies reign and acoustics are clear.
Ryan Oetken and I walk into writers’ rooms with no expectations – no goals of who to sound like or who might cut these songs – we just write. We enjoy writing poetic lyrics with cohabitating lead melody lines that still harmonize with each other. We hope these warm and fuzzy acoustic love songs bring a smile to your heart this Valentine’s Day! If you find these songs stuck in your head, follow our socials because later this spring we’ll be releasing the ‘Harmonies for the Heart – B Sides’ with just as many earworms but with a darker edge. – Holly Auna
I hope people enjoy these songs and connect to them the same way we did while writing them. – Ryan Oetken
