REVIEW: Rhyan Sinclair Contributes “It’s a Marshmallow World” EP to Holiday Catalogue

Reviews

Rhyan Sinclair’s 6 track EP It’s a Marshmallow World is a country Christmas EP produced by Sinclair and Jason Groves. Rhyan Sinclair is on vocals and acoustic guitar, Matt Meighan and Jeff Binder alternate on bass; Zachary Martin on percussion; Fats Kaplan on pedal steel, mandolin and fiddles; Josh Nolan on electric guitar, Paul Osborne on saxophone. Toni Karpinski contributes background vocals.

Two originals kick off the EP.  “Santa, How You Gettin’ In My House?” asks a straightforward question we’ve all wondered about over catchy tambourine and steel guitar with fiddle and horn accents. “Let the Light In, In the Name of Christmas,” features acoustic guitar in a sincere plea to allow the darkness and the holiday season to renew hope “in the name of something bigger than us.”

Then Sinclair sings covers:  “Please Come Home For Christmas,” as a country interpretation of Charles Brown’s classic.  “Winter Wonderland,”  and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and “What Christmas Means to Me” round out the collection nicely. Overall a nice heartwarming addition for your holiday music collection.
