Album Premiere: Folk Soul Revival’s Fourth Album is Self-Titled Revival of Small Town Life

Album Premieres Listen & Watch

Americana Highways presents a premiere of Folk Soul Revival’s self titled fourth album.  Folk Soul Revival was mainly produced by Grammy award winning Chad Brown (Patty Griffin, Ryan Adams) at Ten Four Recording Company; some was produced by Barry Bales (Allison Kraus); and parts of the album were also recorded at Zach Brown’s Southern Grounds Studio.

The album features Daniel Davis with Justin Venable and Chad Light on guitars; upright bassist Brandon Sturgill, and drummer Justin Louthian. The McCrary Sisters add powerful vocal layers to “Broken,” working high quality magic on a song that was already compelling with its pleading “I don’t want to be the one left broken.”  Then Leah Blevins joins the band on vocals on “Dance With Me:” “kiss me like you want to.”  In a genre that’s growing more popular and more crowded by the minute, this album is everything you’re hoping to discover, from the emotional vocals, to the solid musicianship, and from the songs about home and love, to the clean production quality.  You won’t regret taking a ride with the Folk Soul Revival.

“These are stories of home,” says frontman and chief songwriter Daniel Davis.  “We’re all backwoods country people who grew up in the mountains of Virginia, listening to bluegrass and country. That’s where we come from, and that’s where this album comes from, too.”
