Listen: Exclusive Song Premiere by The Jeffrey James Show — “Midnight Train” From Their Upcoming Album “Everywhere”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you an exclusive song premiere, “Midnight Train,” from The Jeffrey James Show’s upcoming release Everywhere, due on September 28.  This song was recorded by Russick Smith in Breckenridge CO; with Jeffrey James on slide guitar, Russick Smith on double bass and Tim Snider on fiddle.  The album was mixed and mastered by Sam Minaie at BirdFood Studio in NYC and features original cover art by Allison Molloy.

“Midnight Train” will trigger long-buried primal homesickness with James’ mournful vocals over Snider’s wild fiddle phrases of longing; while the guitars and rhythm section thankfully prop you back up with the expectation that you’ll get there.  James’ vocals have that wide open welcoming quality that sound like home, and the rhythm arrangement evokes the train that’s carrying you there.  We guarantee this is just what you need to shake you out of the late season doldrums.

“Midnight Train” was written on tour between a bus stop in Park City, Utah, the shores of Lake Tahoe, and alongside canals in Amsterdam. Midnight Train channels the spirit of lawless Johnny Cash & exhibits the passion and sheer adventure of life on the open road.” –Jeffrey James
