Lost Hollow “Love Oh Love”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Lost Hollow’s song “Love Oh Love,” written by Tommy and Lorrie Harden. This song is set for release on November 6 and is part of their forthcoming album, which will be available next year via Angstacy Records. The album was engineered by Tyler Callahan, mixed by Tommy Harden, and mastered by Doug Wayne of Mastermind in Nashville. It was recorded at Tommy’s Dungeon in Nashville.

Musicians on “Love Oh Love” are Tommy Harden on drums, percussion, Rhodes, brass programming, piano and vocals; Lorrie Harden in vocals; Troy Lancaster on electric guitars; Jason Roller on acoustic guitars, banjo, fiddle and violin; and Alison Prestwood on bass, and Kris Algren on french horn.

As Lorrie Harden tells us about this song: “Love is such a mystery to me. Isn’t it funny that something, so much a part of who we are, can still leave us scratching our heads? We spend our lives looking for it, holding on to it, losing it, and then finding it again in places we never expected. It can be the most beautiful thing in the world and, at times, the most confusing and frustrating. I think if love were a person sitting across from me, I’d have an awful lot of questions. I’d probably start with, ‘Where have you been, and why do you have to make things so complicated?’ And then I’d ask it to stay awhile, because life would be pretty empty without it. I hope when people hear this song, they’ll think about the love they’ve known, the love they’ve lost, and the love that might still be waiting around the corner.”

And Tommy Harden offered his perspective as well: “‘Love Oh Love’ asks the questions, pleads for help. It sounds like the lyric should be in a slow, dirgy song, but no! This is set to a music background of kicking bass drum, banjo, fiddle, and even a horn section! And the two-part harmonies are tight! Jason Roller fills the song with ripping banjo, slinging acoustic guitar, and fiddle that tears your head off. ‘If I stop searching, then would you find me, If I stop looking, will you unblind me,’ is the breakdown and ending. At our last show, we did a sneak peek, and this was a crowd favorite for the night.”

The sweetness of the fiddle playing opens into thrilling vocal harmonies as this song celebrates love with a powerful but light touch.
