George Collins “Happiness Looks Good On You”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of George Collins Band’s song “Happiness Looks Good On You.” This song was originally part of his recently released album New Ways of Getting Old, which was produced by Sundown Sessions Studio and recorded by Derek Saxenmeyer at ENEM Recordings.
“Happiness Looks Good On You” is George Collins on lead vocals, and Lou Pomanti on organ, piano and horn arrangement; Tony Carlucci on trumpet; David Wiffen on saxophone; and William Carn on trombone.
As George Collins tells us, “As I was wrapping up work on my latest album, “New Ways of Getting Old,” I took a look over my catalog and realized that many of my songs are quite melancholic and reflective. I was surprised by this, as I am generally an upbeat, positive, forward-looking person. So I intentionally set out to write a song about happiness that would make people feel happy too – I wanted to write a toe tapping, finger snapping tune with irresistible hooks that would put a big smile on everyone’s face.”
This is memorable and catchy, positive and inspirational in a straightforward, uncomplicated style. Its original intention was to make people feel happy just by listening, and it effortlessly surpasses its goal.
