Staci Gruber “This Time Around”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Staci Gruber’s song “This Time Around” from her forthcoming album, which was produced, mixed, and mastered by Erik Halbig. This song was co-written by Staci and Michael Orland (American Idol); the pair has played a few shows and works together fairly regularly. This is a respectable creative venture from someone who is a Harvard neuroscientist to boot. This, you might say, is not your usual career combination, but listen and feel the emotional connection and it all makes sense somehow.
As Staci shares with us, “‘This Time Around’ is really a story of love that pulled too hard, truth that came too late, and a heart that finally listened when it mattered most.” Sadly, that’s all too often the case, isn’t it? We see what we want to see: “She won’t love you the way I do, I guess you just needed something new and I heard ya’.” It’s a gripping, bluesy outpouring of finally having the nerve to walk away.
