Amber Westerman “Barefoot Days”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Amber Westerman’s song “Barefoot Days” from her forthcoming album. The album was produced by Matt Bronleewe. This song was co-written by Amber Westerman, Jessica Cayne, and Matthew Morrisey.

Musicians on “Barefoot Days” are Amber Westerman on vocals; Horatio París on drums; Pedro Silveira on electric guitar; Jack Haigh on acoustic guitar; Samuel Fox on lap steel; Matias Tozzola on mandolin; André Vasconcellos on bass; with Matt Bronleewe on additional instrumentation.

This video was directed, produced, and edited by Amber and shot by friends on Amber’s camera, featuring the Rodger’s family. Studio clips included in the music video were shot in Dickson, Tennessee; Austin, Texas; and Buda Texas; and edited by Trevor Jordan at the Buda Tree House.

As Amber tells us, “I love bringing my songs to life visually, and I’ve always made my own music videos. We shot the “Barefoot Days” video mostly DIY with some of my favorite people, on my own camera in rural Tennessee and on the streets of downtown Austin. The studio clips were shot by my friend Trevor Jordan at the Buda Tree House studio. I wanted it to feel like a time capsule, something that carries the song’s nostalgia and feels like a hug for your inner child.”

The video provides just the right touch of community and a feeling of support for the carefree messages of this satisfying song and its touching, emotionally resonant lyrics.
