Pam Ross “Reading Your Text”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Pam Ross’ song “Reading Your Text” from her forthcoming album. “Reading Your Text” was produced by Pam, recorded at Goodluck Studio in Chapel Hill, NC, and mixed and mastered by Marc Frigo in Nashville.

“Reading Your Text” is Pam Ross on vocals, rhythm guitar, and keyboard; Yvan Petit on lead guitar; FJ Ventre on bass; and Dana Thalheimer on drums.

Pam tells us of the song’s inspiration: “I was driving down the road when I saw someone swerving all over the
place. I thought the driver was drunk. Upon passing, I saw the driver was texting and driving…just as bad. She was way more focused on texting than driving…. glancing up every couple of seconds to look at the road. I wondered what would make someone do that. So, I went home and wrote a song about what might make someone do that.”

Too often too many of us have been in this headspace, and Pam crafted a song that’s all too relatable. “Doing things I know ain’t right… I’m shifting gears with the sun in my eyes while I read the text where you said….” We won’t spoil it, but give it a listen, and enjoy the rootsy rock magic.
