Zeke Bleek and the Mighty Weak “All Is Not (Yet) Lost”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Zeke Bleek’s song “All Is Not (Yet) Lost” from his forthcoming EP The Great State of Dismay. The title for the EP, incidentally, is taken from a lyric from a song that is not on this record. The Great State of Dismay was produced by Alex Drossart and Sam Farrell with additional production by Butch Vig and David Rajter. It was mixed and mastered by Sam Farrell except “26 eXes,” which was by Justin Masterson. Executive producer on the project was Butch Vig.
“All is Not (Yet) Lost” is Zeke Bleek on vocals with the Mighty Weak band: Frank Lloyd Anderson on lap steel guitar; Samuel Farrell on electric and acoustic guitar; Alex Drossart on piano and organ; Matty Day on bass; Huge Ry Seefeldt on drums; and Cory Chisel on backing vocals.
This video was directed by Ariana Merline and produced by Pablo Miralles.
As Zeke tells us about the song, “Sometimes, folks just like hearing about somebody who’s got it a little bit worse than they do. Even if they’ve had a bad day, I can usually top their tales of woe just off the top of my head. That seems to bring a smile or two from the peanut gallery, which is just fine by me.”
Zeke’s delivery is a close companion to Johnny Cash on “I’ve Been Everywhere” but it’s also a cult style tongue-in-cheek chronicalling of days gone wrong: “I lost my sense of humor, I lost my balance on a cliff in the mountains of Peru … I lost focus so I lost count of all the things I lost….”
