You know that list, that daily list that never seems to be finished and perpetually repopulates itself? That’s the one. Sterling tackles that mind numbing set of tasks here in this song about the repetition and the disorder that, well, characterize being a grownup. It’s a killer groovy Southern rock loping blusey rhythm with sustained keys to open, and then it’s a relatable take on the madness of modern days: “Round and round it goes, I’m losing track, once it’s gone you aint’ever gonna get it back. There ain’t enough time in the day…” The video is a very relatable vignette of the madness.
“Clockwork” is my fun, groovy take on the restless responsibilities that come with getting older. I wanted the video to reflect me embracing the madness — the cycles, the chaos, the humor in it all. – Sterling Miller
