Digney Fignus “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”
Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Digney Fignus’ song “The Emperor Wears No Clothes” from his forthcoming album Black and Blue – The Brick Hill Sessions. The music was produced by Digney, engineered by Jon Evans; and mastered by Mark Allen Miller at Radio Valkyrie. This song will be available on June 20.
“The Emperor Wears No Clothes” is Digney Fignus on acoustic guitar; Chris Leadbetter on mandolin; Tim Fiehler on bass; David Dillon on drums; Gary Urgonski on spoons; and Malcolm Granger on piano (not in video).
This video was shot at Cape Cod Media Center, edited by Ivan Rambhadjan; and directed and produced by Digney Fignus. Wearing Russian hats, this video pretty music lays out what the whole world, and the “No Kings” movement is thinking: “everybody knows the Emperor wears no clothes.” The music is a danceable and disarming take, a more piercing approach than your traditional folkie protest song, but a protest song nonetheless.
I’m overwhelmed by all the great reviews and support. “The Emperor Wears No Clothes” has received. It was a real labor of love putting together the video. – Digney
