Steve Forbert “One Lone Leaf”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Steve Forbert song “One Lone Leaf” from his recently released album Daylight Savings Time. Daylight Savings Time was produced, mixed and engineered by Steve Greenwell, with executive producer Joe Poletto, and it was mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, Nashville.
“One Lone Leaf” is Steve Forbert on vocals, acoustic guitar, and harmonica; Rob Clores on keyboards; Gurf Morlix on electric guitar; Aaron Comess on drums; Byron House on bass; and Layonne Holmes on backing vocals.
This video was filmed by George McMorrow and edited by Andy Campbell-Firkus. A studio performance video with Steve playing his pretty inlaid vintage Martin guitar and singing with his honest vocal delivery dovetails nicely with the wonder of nature and the complexity within simplicity honored in this song. The imagery in each is uncluttered, potent and focused. This is a timeless song for a harbinger for the passage of time. You see one leaf and before you know it, summer is over: “One lone leaf before they all turn brown.”
I was walking out in some NJ woods during the month of August. I stopped for a moment and a yellowed leaf fell at my feet. This one leaf was perhaps the very first of all that would follow as Autumn inevitably took over. – Steve Forbert
