Luke Daniel – “Lucky Man”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Luke Daniel’s song “Lucky Man” from his forthcoming album due out next year. The album was produced by Brian DeBruler at Sol Records.

“Lucky Man” is Luke Daniel on acoustic guitar and lead vocals; Brian DeBruler on back up harmonies; Ryan Moore on acoustic guitar; and Michelle D’Amico DeBruler on percussion.

Releasing on the run up to Fathers Day, this song has widescreen vision.  Written for Luke’s young boys to hear as they mature, he was careful to create a song that would be meaningful to them as adults and hold new relevance later in life. It takes an acute sense of mortality, lifetimes and legacy to pull something like this off, and Luke succeeded and made the result sound natural and easy. As parents we love our children in ways it’s hard to be sure they know, and this song is about that – but at the same time anyone can relate to this song – it’s accessible and timeless.

I wrote “Lucky Man” as a letter to my boys—something real they could carry with them long after I’m gone. A way to speak them when they’re older and show them how much they mean to me. It’s about love, resilience, and being present, even when life doesn’t go to plan. If it connects with anyone else out there trying to do right by the people they love, then I’ve done my job. – Luke Daniel
