James Deely – “Try My Luck”

Americana Highways presents this video premiere of James Deely’s song “Try My Luck” from his forthcoming album The Nashville Sessions, set for release on June 20. The Nashville Sessions was produced by Doc Holiday and mixed by Eric “Roscoe” Ambel.

“Try My Luck” is James Deely on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Eric “Roscoe” Ambel on guitar and vocals; Mr Garry W. Tallent (Bruce Springsteen) on bass; Jeff Kazee on B 3 organ; Ron Krasinski on drums; Bruce Tunkel on piano; PK Levengood on acoustic guitar; with Judy Tint and Layonne Holmes on backing vocals.

This video was filmed on location in Northern Wisconsin by Skyline Drone Services of Ashland Wisconsin with birds-eye perspectives and breathtaking views.  Sometimes life takes us down a forking path that unexpectedly leads back to people and places we’ve been before: this song is for that experience. James sings with longing and regret, but with an optimistic feel that maybe, with a little luck, he will reconnect with one he once left behind. The easy roots rock style is a pleasure to listen to.

The long lost lover, returns home seeking forgiveness and redemption, by knowing he has burned every bridge he ever crossed he also knows the odds are not in his favor. The only card  he has left to play, is Luck! So he returns one last time to Try His Luck!

People change and people grow, sometimes too much, in different ways.  I only hope what we’ve been through, won’t send us in separate ways – James Deely
