Americana Highways presents this premiere of Rip Gerber’s song “This Ranch Is My Church” from his forthcoming album Three Chord Town, which is scheduled for release on June 20.  Three Chord Town was produced by Josh Riley; engineered by Connor Wang and Swineshead Production; and mastered by Josh Sebek with choral arrangement by Steve Milloy.

Musicians on “This Ranch Is My Church” are Rip Gerber on vocals and guitar; Josh Riley on vocals; Angela Morano on keyboards; Jake Baynes on electric guitar; Mike Petillo on acoustic guitar;  Jcob Schneiderman on bass; Alex Bizzarro on pedal steel; Grifin Dinardo on drums; and the Golden Gate men’s chorus on background vocals.

This video was created by Zack Miley of GGMC Videos and produced by Gonzalez Media Production. Proceeds from this song are slated for Eric Church’s charity Chief Cares.

Rip crafted this song in response to a time spent on Eric Church’s ranch in gratitude for the hospitality and the splendeur of the surroundings. It’s a nod to Church’s song “Desperate Man” which, in turn, was inspired by The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy For the Devil” but it’s also an ageless tale of a boy raised in the church with tales of Jesus and Moses, tending fences with papa on grandpa’s ranch and a deep reverence for the legacy, the land and the natural creatures therein. Rip sings with a powerful tone of truth and The Golden Gate Men’s choir adds subtle strength to the message as the guitars weave in and out and the power builds to a heady rock crescendo. The video displays the band on a cabin porch, ranch scenes and sacred natural landscapes, and significantly, the fabulous choir. There’s strength in a group coming together to sing as one, a strength that the song highlights sonically of course, but which is also amplified within the video footage as well

“This Ranch Is My Church” came to life after an unforgettable weekend in Nashville, where I found inspiration in the stories and hospitality of Eric Church and his wife Kat, their parents, and their family and friends. The song is a thank-you note to Eric…and a celebration of faith, family, and the beauty of slowing down to appreciate life’s simple blessings. All proceeds will be donated to CHIEF CARES, Eric’s charity, which is currently helping victims of Hurricane Helene. – Rip Gerber
