Connor Daly – “Worked Harder”

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Connor Daly’s song “Worked Harder” from his recently released album Colors Fade.  The album was produced by William Gawley, mixed by Bryce Roberts, and mastered by Mike Monseur with Axis Audio.

“Worked Harder” is Connor Daly on acoustic guitar and vocals; Wayne Killius on drums; Dave Francis on bass; David Flint on acoustic guitar;  Chris Nole on piano, and Deanie Richardson on fiddle.

This video was directed by William Gawley, produced by Michelle Robertson, with Wayne Taylor directing photography and drone pilot.  Production assistant was Gracyn Harris, with editing and coloring by Color Sync Visuals.

This is a song of regrets, “maybe I should have worked harder to keep you around.. bought a ring, and got on the ground….” It’s hard sometimes to see the role we played in things falling apart, especially when it’s a painful breakup.  Connor Daly demonstrates this experience of self-reflection and growth with this song – capturing the tone and the feel with the music, and the honest thought processes with his words.

This song is one of the oldest songs on the album and one of my favorites. It is about regret in a relationship, and being honest with yourself, admitting your own failure for losing something special in your life. This video really emphasizes the feeling of abandonment and regret. – Connor Daly
