Noel McKay – “You Only Live Always”

Americana Highways bring you this video premiere of Noel McKay’s song “You Only Live Always,” the title track from his recently released album produced by Jay Weaver at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville. The album was engineered and mixed by Jeremy Cottrell and mastered by Alex McCollough at True East.
“You Only Live Always” is Noel McKay on guitar and vocals; Katherine Marx on piano; Ben Sanders on strings; and Billy Contreras on strings.
This video was created by Duende Vision (Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel). With a cadence and at atmosphere that evokes Leonard Cohen’s songcraft, this song is already an attention-grabber. But then the video is an ominous vignette with old world castles and dramatic noir footage. This is an excellent song evoking the patterns of love, the circle of seasons and the circle of life – karma, reincarnation, and ultimately, perspective.
The song is about a physiological, atomic, and subatomic, although not necessarily spiritual reincarnation over the span of unfathomable amounts of time and people who find themselves together again and again. I knew that Anana and Irakli, being Nashvillians and also from the Republic of Georgia, were in a unique position to craft an appropriate video for it. They absolutely delivered a beautiful video that accompanies it perfectly. – Noel McKay
