It was recorded at multiple locations: at Church Place Studio in Hillerød, Denmark; Sitting Room Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark; and Wooden Cloud Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The photo was taken by Marc Roed.
“The Blood is Never on Their Hands” is Ray Weaver on lead vocals, acoustic guitars and other things with strings, and keyboards; Lars Krarup on electric guitars and other things with strings; Barry Allen on drums; Ray Davis, Billy Davis, Savannah Weaver and Tabitha Fair on background vocals.
This is a pretty sounding, emotionally devastating song about the horrors of war, the unbelievable pain it causes and the cold inhumanity of those who wage it. The melodies on stringed instruments are bright and lovely against the somber vocal backdrop and Ray has created a heartwrenching masterpiece with this one.
This song is a reflection on the universal devastation caused by war, capturing its senselessness and the profound human toll it exacts.
It deliberately avoids taking sides, instead focusing on the shared suffering and loss that transcends borders and ideologies.
The recording process spanned across continents, from the soulful streets of Copenhagen to the vibrant music scene in Nashville, bringing together a blend of diverse influences and top-tier production quality. The result is a deeply moving and professional piece that I hope resonates on a global scale, offering a connection to listeners touched by its message of unity and peace. – Ray Weaver
