This video was shot, edited and directed by Michael Ellison. The baseline pattern for relationship is highlighted with the chorus: “she’s always rolling out and rollin’ in again,” showcasing the way that people in long term situations draw closer and further apart over again in turns, both literally and figuratively. Easy rootsy rock with electric guitar melodies set up this song with catchy refrains in the best of folk rock Americana style. The video footage of the band and natural settings is both comforting and thrilling in different ways.
Boy meets girl, boy falls in love, girl has wanderlust. She’s a free spirit. They live on the east coast, she dreams of the Rocky Mountains. It’s the story of the emotional arcs of a relationship. How a person can pull away and then come back. The song uses nature, the tides, and the idea of the changing seasons, as metaphors for this push and pull. – Roger Street Friedman
