Jerry Ezold – “Smith’s Ferry Drive”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Jerry Ezold’s song “Smith’s Ferry Drive” from his forthcoming debut album Trials & Tribulations. The album was recorded at Dirt Floor Recording & Production Studio. It was produced and mixed by Eric M. Lichter, engineered by Guido Falivene, and mastered by Steve Wytas.
“Smith’s Ferry Drive” is Jerry Ezold on vocals, and Eric M. Lichter on guitars, bass, Hammond organ, keys and percussion. Smith’s Ferry, in Holyoke MA, historically transported people across the Connecticut River, and the adjacent Ferry Drive was part of the backdrop of Ezold’s youth – years that contained some reckless choices surrounding him that he later transcended along a brighter path with a band that practiced across the street. This song is full of nostalgic reflections of gratitude and personal harmony in metaphor for a place where a lot of positive changes originated, in an Heartland rock style arrangement.
“Smith’s Ferry Drive” is more than just a song from my debut album, Trials and Tribulations. It is a reflection of my life experiences and memories in the neighborhood of Smith’s Ferry in Holyoke, MA. From childhood excitement to teenage rebellion, from chaotic parties to a path of redemption, this song takes you on a nostalgic journey down memory lane. It serves as a reminder that no matter how dark our past may be, there is always a brighter future waiting for us if we choose to embrace it. – Jerry Ezold
