Gringo Pistoleros – “One Step Further”

Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Gringo Pistoleros’ song “One Step Further” from their forthcoming album The Rise and Subsequent Fall of the Texas Alien, which is due to be released on May May 31st. The album was produced by Patrick Herzfeld and Larry Wilson; recorded, mixed and mastered at Signal Hill Studios

“One Step Further” is the Gringo Pistoleros: Cory Grinder, Lazarus Nichols, Alexander Buchanan, Stephen “Tebbs” Karney.

Gringo Pistoleros, like their namesake song written by Tim Henderson & Allen Wayne Demron, make music that’s all Texas; even if you’re not from Texas that much is clear. A stepped up two-step, quick pedal steel and close harmonies wind together into a boot stopper that makes this a stand-out. “One step further just might be one step too many.”  Ain’t that the truth?   The video animating the band playing live is quite compelling, too, as you listen.

Laz wrote One Step Further standing outside of a Mike Blakely concert at the legendary listening room, The Bugle Boy in La Grange, TX. Laz and his beautiful wife Hannah may have been drinking with Chuck Hawthorne in the parking lot after the show when Laz may, or may not, have nearly fallen down the holler on the back half of the property taking a piss. Chuck Hawthorne growls, “One step further would have been one step too many Laz!” And a song is born… – G. Pistoleros
