Spencer Kilpatrick – “Self-Sabatoge”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Spencer Kilpatrick’s song “Self’Sabatoge” from his forthcoming album Sitting.  Sitting was recorded by Spencer in Big Water, Utah and mastered by Rick Spagnola at Dogwater Studios in Reno, Nevada. Album art was courtesy of TW Rushing.

“Self-Sabatoge” is Spencer Kilpatrick on guitar and vocals.

For fans of songs simply delivered in an easy style that draws you in to pull a chair and listen, this project is just what you’re looking for.  This song reflects powerfully but at the same time, gently, on the escapes we often dive into in life.  Sometimes, it’s just drinking with buddies over at that one guy’s house.  “Wait, wait, I’ve seen this one but I’ll watch it again and again.” Oh man have we all been there, and some of us actually live there.

These recordings were an attempt to make the songs as small and intimate and personable as possible. Self Sabotage was written as a straight ahead rock and roll song but as I stripped it down and fiddled with the words a bit, I was excited by the earnestness that was there, it set the tone for recording the rest of the record the way I did; with just a mic in the kitchen. – Spencer Kilpatrick
