Lance Cowan – “For You”
Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Lance Cowan’s song “For You” from his recently released album So Far, So Good. The album had multiple producers, and the one for this song was the late voice over artist Mark Elliott with Dan Dugmore (Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor).
“For You” is Lance Cowan on guitar and vocals; Dan Dugmore on guitar, pedal steel, piano, and bass; and Mark Elliott on background vocals.
This video was created by Lantzapalooza Muzik, “it’s the whisper of words never said / it’s the spark in the eye of the believer / and the vision he hasn’t had yet.” Lance co-wrote this song with Mark Elliot, who has sadly passed away, but who is immortalized in the background vocals and co-production of this lovely song. “For You” enumerates examples of where love resides, and a love which Lance Cowan identifies as the way he feels for his own dear wife. Timeless, gentle and easy, this song is a sweet tear jerker.
I wrote this with my good friend, the late Mark Elliott. It’s a laundry list of so many ways to love another person, and how all-emcompassing and unconditional true love can be. It’s a song about the love I feel for my wife. – Lance Cowan
