Graham Brown – “Head Over Heels”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Graham Brown’s song “Head Over Heels” from his recently released album Solo.  Solo was produced by Bill Buckingham and Graham Brown at Palace Studios, Vancouver BC.

This recording is Graham Brown solo on vocals and guitar. The video was shot and edited by Andy Warren [a-dub.com] with production design and lighting by Rob Bubek.  Bright and vivid string playing and the whole vocal arrangement leading to “head over heels deep in your love” are the two pillars of truth in this song.  The dark shadows of the video’s cinematography with Graham moving in and out of the light contributes to the thoughtful effect.

As this is an acoustic record with one vocal, acoustic guitar and harmonica, I basically relied on the approach of old school folk singers/songwriters. I respect all of those artists for their obvious talent, but also for the fact that they stand up and say, ‘I will not sell myself out.’ I respect that and I feel the same way. After writing and recording hundreds of songs to this point, and playing thousands of live shows I realized I still have so much to learn about the craft of songwriting as well as the delivery of the songs. I’ve also learned that the honesty within the delivery and the song itself is paramount. This record is part of my evolution, and I think you can hear that in a song like “Head Over Heels.” – Graham Brown
