Tipps and Obermiller – “Fort Worth”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Tipps and Obermiller’s song “Fort Worth” from their forthcoming album MacGuffin, due to be released on April 12.  This song, however, will be available on January 26th.  MacGuffin was produced by Nick Tittle;  engineered and mixed by Mark Randall and mastered by Todd Pipes.  It was recorded at Blackstone Recording Studio in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Fort Worth” is Hilary Tipps and Steve Obermiller on guitar and vocals; Aden Bubeck on bass; Trey Ware on drums; and Clay Parker on piano.  This song is bright and scintillating with intertwining bittersweet imagery of hometown Fort Worth and an aging parent who needs you to come home.  “Shivering and smoking in the hospital garage,  thank god I got to walk you home, oh Fort Worth I forgive you, you took more than I forgive you.  Do you forgive me too?”  Here lies an emotional twisting we all can relate to as we look to the brighter side of hardships.

A song about my beloved hometown, and/or my dad – Hilary Tipps
