Great American Trainwreck — “Rail Rider”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Great American Trainwreck’s song “Rail Rider,” from their forthcoming album Sweet Pepper Jelly. The album was produced by Great American Trainwreck; recorded at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA; engineered by Taylor Carroll and mastered by Resonant Mastering in Seattle.
“Rail Rider” is Stephanie Ward on vocals and acoustic guitar; Chuck Dunklin on electric tenor guitar; Andy Basinger on keys; Dan Rogers on bass; Dave Bush on drums; Judd Wasserman on backing vocals; Elijah Clark on trombone; and Daniel Lombard on trumpet.
The video was directed by Michael Maniglia of Subterra Films in Los Angeles, CA; with assistance from Jason Calderwood. Groovy vibes launch this song with an envelope filter, horns, and driving rhythms with a music fan just trying to make it at a day job and society’s rules. The video will crack you up with exaggerated office humor, and the ending that reveals that sometimes we have more in common than we thought.
“Rail Rider” is the second track off of our sophomore album, Sweet Pepper Jelly. It is one of our favorite songs to play live because of its high energy and the fact that it blends so many genres that inspire us – Americana, rock, and classic country – into one song. It embodies who we are sonically and where we are headed. We partnered with Subterra Films again for the music video to tell a lighthearted story about an enthusiastic concert-goer. All of our music videos include an element of humor and “Rail Rider” is no exception. — Stephanie Ward
