Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Andy Kahrs’ song “Everybody’s In Town” from his forthcoming EP Together, due to be available on March 4. The album was produced by Bobby Holland (ZZ Ward, Maggie Rose, Kesha); and mastered by Dan Shike (Larkin Poe, Molly Tuttle).
“Everybody’s In Town” is Andy Kahrs on acoustic guitar and vocals; Brad Sample on electric guitar; Kaitlyn Connor on keyboards; Jay Tooke on drums; and Judd Fuller on bass. This song is a feel-good song about friendship and taking the time to be together and just hang out together — making each other laugh, and essentially “doing” nothing. Except being together. Which is decidedly something. It launches when his old friend calls to say “he’s only 15 miles away…. let’s get up to nothing.”
I’d rather be sitting around with old friends than just about anything in all the world. It’s my idea of a party, and I wrote this song to capture the magic attached to those all-too-rare reunions. — Andy Kahrs
