Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Dina Regine’s version of Dylan’s song “Blowin’ in the Wind.” This song was produced by Dina Regine and Mark Plati (David Bowie); mixed by Mark Plati with cover art and design by Regine. Dina Regine is a contributor to the forthcoming book on Bob Dylan by KG Miles, Troubadour Tales of New York.
This recording of “Blowin’ in the Wind” is part of the upcoming EP The Sunflower Sessions (an echo of Vincent Van Gogh) which features Regine, Plati and Charlie Giordano (Bruce Springsteen).
All photography, filming and editing for the video is courtesy of Dina Regine. This is as thoughtful and haunting of an interpretation of Bob Dylan as you’ll ever find. Filmed in Central Park in grey weather, the setting is perfect for the mournful quality of the song.
The livestreams were the one thing that kept me positive and connected during a year and a half of semi- isolation. One song grew into a 3-song acoustic EP with two Dylan covers and one Lead Belly track, featuring Mark Plati*(David Bowie,) Charlie Giordano (Bruce Springsteen,) and Noah Hoffeld. This was a chance to do a side project that was a collaboration with my good buddies, have a little fun, and create new work. — Dina Regine
*Mark recently produced and mixed the Bowie boxset that will be released at the end of the year.
