Song Premiere: Juliana Riccardi “Hold For Your Woman”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Juliana Riccardi’s song “Hold For Your Woman” from her forthcoming album Full Cup. Full Cup was co-produced by Juliana Riccardi, Will Hensley and Jeremy McDonald. Vocal production and engineering was by Riccardi, and  the album was mixed by Will Hensley and Darrell Thorp (Beck, Lake Street Dive). Jim Wilson mastered the record.

“Hold For Your Woman” is Juliana Riccardi on lead and harmony vocals;  Will Hensley on acoustic and electric guitar and pedal steel; Jeremy McDonald on bass, Nick D’Agostino on drums; Todd Caldwell on organ, piano, keys; Wayne Tucker on trumpet; and Runson Willis III on harmonica.  Juliana Riccardi has that sultry alto vocal that immediately creates a grounded energy.  This song is rooted.

We recorded my 2nd single at the legendary Dreamland Recording Studio near Woodstock, NY. We took a once-acoustic blues track, made it minor and turned the bridge into the hook. Recording takes with the band live brought a new bold energy – and this song is placed on the EP as a bridge to tie together the vulnerability and fierceness of the record’s seven songs. ‘Hold for Your Woman’ is about holding space and grounding for your woman or partner, in a deeper, enduring way. Embracing their dynamics, emotional depth and powerful energy without feeling threatened. It’s a call-to-action and a challenge to stay rock steady for her. She’s worth it. — Juliana Riccaradi
