Americana Highways presents this premiere of Wild Earp ‘s song “I Wanna Go,” from their album Dyin’ For Easy Livin’ due out July 9. Dyin’ For Easy Livin’ was engineered and mixed by Doug Malone at Jamdek Recording Studio, Chicago and mastered by Chicago Mastering Service. The album cover photo is by Alan Maniacek with cover design by Shayne Taylor.
“I Wanna Go” is Jed Taylor on baritone guitar, Brian Wilkie on pedal steel, and Sean Hughes on piano. Enjoy the solid country music with the universal sentiments that characterize Wild Earp’s music.
I love touring and going on road trips — the longer the drive, the better. There’s something about the road that inspires self-reflection and songwriting, and I have so many good memories of tour life with the band. Having to cancel our spring tour due to COVID last year stung, but then slowly giving up on the subsequent tours over the next year was really demoralizing. This song encapsulates that cabin fever I’ve been feeling, and the hope that we’ll be back on the road playing live music again this year with my buds.
My hope is that this will find a home on anyone’s summer road trip playlists — or just ‘summer s***’ playlists in general. — Wild Earp.
