“Learning How to Say Goodbye” was a song that broke the seal after a long stretch of writers block. I had recently relocated to Madison, TN, and was living on a friend’s property that backed right up to the Cumberland River. In the middle of winter, we were experiencing some uncharacteristically heavy rainfall. The river was well above its banks & moving very quickly. I drew inspiration from the swollen river to write a meditation about gracefully moving on. — Philippe Bronchtein
