Margo Price at the Belly Up Tavern
Margo Price brought her Wild At Heart tour to the world-famous Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. She is out on the road promoting her latest album, Hard Headed Woman, but she opened the show with the ballad “Hands of Time” from her debut album Midwest Farmer’s Daughter.
The sold-out crowd was already singing along when she launched into several songs from the new album, including “Wild at Heart,” “Red Eyed Flight” and “Don’t Wake Me Up.”
Other memorable songs in the set were “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down,” a George Jones cover, “I Just Don’t Give a Damn,” and “Too Stoned to Cry,” an Andrew Combs cover.
Her top notch band includes her husband Jeremy Ivey and long-time member Logan Ledger.
Ledger performed “Ripple” by the Grateful Dead and “All the Wine In California,” a song he penned himself, while Price took a short break backstage. Music Reviews: Tom Waits Reissues, plus Wilco, the Brother Boys, Logan Ledger, and a Nanci Griffith Tribute
Margo returned to finish out the set with a couple covers, “Oval Room” by Blaze Foley and Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm.” Sandwiched in between was one of her own, “Hurtin’ On the Bottle.”
The show was an absolute thriller for everyone in attendance.
After the show, which lasted a little over two exciting hours, Margo came out to the back and hung out at the merch booth posing for photos and signing autographs. She signed on fan’s t-shirt on the shoulder and told her “I’ll be your angel or your devil, depending on the day.”
