Sophie Gault “Unhinged”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Sophie Gault’s song “Unhinged,” the title track from her recently released album. The album was produced by Alex Torrez and David Dorn; engineered and mixed by Brandon Bell; and mastered by Independent Mastering. It was recorded at Farmland Studio in Nashville, TN (all songs except track 10). It was released via Torrez Music Group.

“Unhinged” is Sophie Gault on vocals, electric guitar and acoustic guitar; Sol Littlefield on electric guitar; Tim Denbo on bass; Fred Eltringham on drums and percussion; and David Dorn on keys.

This video was directed and produced by Brooke Stevens of Baby Horse Productions. The concept of being unhinged is the ultimate in personal liberation. This song is as freeing as the concept, and the video captures the vibe in its native element.

As Sophie tells Americana Highways, ” It was a lot of fun to make. We just drank whiskey and thought about that scene at the blackjack table in Austin Powers. I’d just driven all the way back to Nashville from Texas that day. Adam “Ditch” Kurtz stars as the dealer, a role he was meant for. When Alex Torrez first heard me do “Stop Breaking Down,” he told me I sounded totally unhinged. And he said we should call the album that. I loved the idea because I love that word and I think all these songs embody that spirit totally — Unhinged. I don’t
give a fuck. I’m going to crash the party at the Outlaw Cruise, double down on a 17 at the blackjack table and win. And nobody’s gonna stop me because I’m unhinged and a little bit crazy. I’ve even been diagnosed crazy so I can say that. That’s what the song is — it’s saying, stop telling me what to do and watch me win. I am who I am, and I trust my gut.”
