“Last One Standing” is Andy Thomas on electric guitar, slide guitar and lead vocals; Josh Shilling on Hammond B3 and piano; Stephen Campbell on bass; Mark Henderson on drums; Jonathan Meadows on background vocals and Dave Schools on percussion.

As Andy tells us, “‘Last One Standing’ was the last song we cut in the studio and it’s the final track on the album, the closing scene of Highway Junkie. It really sums up the whole journey while still leaving an open ending for what’s to come. This song captures a moment of transformation. It’s about shedding who you were so you can step into who you’re becoming. It’s about finding alignment and moving forward into the unknown even when you don’t have proof yet. We may not be able to see exactly where we’re going, but we sure as hell will get there.”

It’s an eery feeling, being the last one standing in a group that has to fall away, and the resultant turning and walking away from a former life and a former self. Between Andy’s songwriting and delivery and Dave School’s heavy emotional production sensibilities, the song is anthemic, motivating and powerful.
