Sam Burchfield “Morning Light”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Sam Burchfield’s song “Morning Light” from his forthcoming album Nature Speaks, which is set for release on October 24 via Cloverdale Records. This song will be available on September 12. Nature Speaks was produced by Sam Burchfield and Ryan Plumley, along with engineer Jason Kingsland. It was recorded at Studio 1093 Athens Georgia, engineered and mixed by Jason Kingsland, and mastered by Eric Conn of Independent Mastering.

Musicians on “Morning Light” are Sam Burchfield on vocals and guitar; Ryan Plumley on electric guitar, drums, and other instruments by Ryan Plumley; with strings and string arrangements by John Mailander and percussion by Colin Agnew.

Sam Burchfield tells us about the song, “I had discovered a cyst on my neck and I wasn’t sure what it was. This was a turning point where I felt I had to finally stare it in the face. This song was a moment of speaking hope to myself in a time of uncertainty and fear. I woke up in the middle of the night with a sense that I needed to record this song, so I went into my home studio and recorded this take before returning to bed.”

With hushed acoustic guitar and introspective reflective vocal style, this song is a daydream of pondering in the sunrise of the morning light. Strings crescendo like a true sunrise and the effect is subtle yet glorious.
