Will Payne Harrison “Freetown”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Will Payne Harrison’s song “Freetown” from his forthcoming album Still Feeling the Payne, set for release on August 18. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Will.

“Freetown” is Will Payne Harrison on vocals and acoustic guitars; Stephie G. on drums; Nelson Williams on upright bass;  Van Plating on fiddle and harmony vocals; and Jesse Reaux on banjo.

JD Mahoney, Luke Andrus and Will were the camera operators for the video, with the editing done by Will as well. Scenes from the Blue Moon honky tonk saloon set the mood for this song of nostalgia about good friends, whiskey after midnight, singing sad songs about love in the dark, and living in old memories. Good times are never really gone when the memories remain, and that’s what this song brings to the foreground in a song that’s easy on the ears.

Freetown is the musician area of Lafayette, Louisiana where I lived before moving to Nashville a decade ago. This song is about remembering the good times there. I was able to shoot most of the video in Freetown at the Blue Moon Saloon while on tour with Matt Moran for our Sad Cowboy Summer Tour. With the help of my friends JD and Luke, we were able to give an actual visual what the lyrics are talking about in the song and I’m very proud of how it all turned out. – Will Payne Harrison
