David Newbould – “Into the Deep”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of David Newbould’s song, which was co-written with Aaron Lee Tasjan: “Into the Deep.” This song is part of David’s forthcoming album Average Fidelity Vol. 1, set for release later this year via Blackbird Record Label. Average Fidelity Vol. 1 was produced, engineered, and mixed by David, and mastered by Alex McCullough. This song will be released on June 6.
All vocals and instruments on “Into the Deep” were performed by David Newbould: lead vocals, background vocals, electric guitar, bass and drums.

This song is automatic nostalgia with hazy vocals and a feel of urgency in the rhythm accompanying the echoey vocals than together result in a feeling of meaningful significance: “when the eye of the hurricane beat down on the pouring rain / seeking shelter from the storm / looking for a place to stay dry.” You will sense echoes of Pink Floyd or Yes in the mix here, yet it’s all very current within its timelessness.
