Bill Nash – “Locked in Your Lovin’ Arms”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Bill Nash’s song “Locked in Your Lovin’ Arms,” from his forthcoming album Oh Hank. Oh Hank was produced, mixed, and mastered by Jimmy Nash and Kenny Royster.  Bill and his songwriting partner Kim Nash have written songs for Reba McEntire, Diamond Rio and more, and their songs are a real treat. This one is no exception.

“Locked in Your Lovin’ Arms” is Bill on vocals; John Willis on acoustic guitar; Adam Shoenfeld on electric guitar; Mike Rojas on keyboards; Scotty Sanders on steel guitar; Dave Francis on bass; Larry Franklin on fiddle; and Kim Nash and Jimmy Nash on background vocals.

Bill’s yodelly vocals are standout, and this song grabs your ears instantly. It removes the intensity that so many love songs tout, coming across with the purest aspects that simply leave you automatically smiling.  Easy footage of folks dancing while Bill performs the song with the band just emphasize the easy intention.

This all started back in 2015. My son, Jimmy, was living in New York, and we went to visit him and his lovely wife, Andra, who was working at NBC there. I was talking about different songs I wanted to record, and none of them had any real direction, just random songs I liked, and he said, “Dad, we should really do a traditional Country album on you, and write some new songs that feature your yodel.” Well, sure, why not? He quickly came up with a couple songs that I loved, but then, in the midst of everything else going on in our lives at the moment, I just plum forgot (that’s like regular forgetting, but when you’re from South Texas)! – Bill Nash
