Andrew Young “Heaven”

Andrew Young

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Andrew Young’s song “Heaven” from his forthcoming EP Hello Again, which is set for release later this spring. Hello Again was produced by William Gawley with executive producer Michelle Robertson. It was mixed by Bryce Roberts and recorded at Station West in Nashville, then mastered by Sage Audio.

“Heaven” is Andrew Young on vocals and guitar; Chris Nole on keys; Dave Francis on bass; Dave Flint on guitar; and Wayne Killius on drums.

Speaking of the song, Andrew Young says: “‘Heaven’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve written. One of the first topics I ever felt proud of writing about was of the love I had for my high school sweetheart, Kirsten. Fast forward ten years, we got married, and I wanted to try to capture that same message of the way she brings joy to my life, but with ten years of growth and life together under our belt. I truly believe when I found my person, it’s been as much of heaven to spend my life with her as it is to dream of heaven itself.”

Regarding the Hello Again EP, he said: “I’m incredibly excited to release ‘Hello Again.’ I chose that title for it because I’ve always thought of music as like an old friend. Regardless of how much time goes by, or how you grow, you can come to it to play and write. Music has been with me my whole life, and on this EP, my goal was to write five songs I’m proud of – regardless of genre, length, or message, or even how long I’ve had them written but not recorded. I think this project captures a pretty wide range of my influences, and that there’s something for everybody on the EP.”

Some love songs are surface, and some come from the heart center, and this song “Heaven” is gentle as it expresses straight from the heart center. It’s very moving and carried along in a quality Americana music style.
