The Scarlet Goodbye “El Camino Adios”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of The Scarlet Goodbye’s song “El Camino Adios,” the title track from their forthcoming album which is set for release on March 15. El Camino Adios was engineered and produced by Jeff Arundel; mixed by Jeff Arundel and Rob Genadek; and mastered by Rob Genadek. It was recorded at Avalon Studios in St. Paul, MN. Album cover art was courtesy of Mike Hardwick.
“El Camino Adios” is Jeff Arundel on vocals and acoustic guitar; Dan Murphy on backing vocals and electric guitar; Jeff Victor on Wurlitzer piano; Rob Arthur on Hammond organ; Pat Nelson on bass; and Ben Peterson on drums. The Scarlet Goodbye has a delicately ragged disposition on this one, from Jeff Arundel’s raw vocals to the gentle dual organs punctuation the guitars and easy rhythm: “El camino adios, I’ll be leaving for the coast, with nothing but this ragged point of view.” It’s a sweet song of missing someone very dear in a place that’s equally very dear.
About the song “El Camino Adios” – Maybe there is a way that saying goodbye to a Girl and saying goodbye to a place are the same. I feel like the mood of this track captures that feeling perfectly. If you really want to experience it, wait until Fall and light a little pile of leaves, and inhale, and press play. – Jeff Arundel
