Artikal Sound System at Aisle 5 in Atlanta

Hailing from South Florida, Artikal Sound System has been making waves in the reggae-rock scene with their signature blend of laid-back grooves, soulful vocals, and genre-bending influences. Originally formed as an instrumental reggae group, the band found their missing piece when vocalist Logan Rex joined in 2018, bringing a fresh dynamic to their sound. Since then, they’ve built a dedicated following, thanks to their infectious energy and relatable songwriting. Their latest tour, Are You Smiling Yet 2025, showcases their continued evolution while delivering the kind of high-energy live performances that have become their trademark.

Atlanta’s Aisle 5 served as the perfect intimate venue for Artikal Sound System’s return to the city. The crowd was already buzzing with excitement when opening act Sitting on Saturn took the stage, quickly winning over the audience with their eclectic mix of indie, reggae, and rock influences. Their set featured standout tracks like “I Need A Nap,” “Tokyo,” “Hope She’s The One,” “Crème Brûlée,” and “Some Kind of Way,” each showcasing their strong musicianship and dynamic stage presence. Their ability to seamlessly blend mellow grooves with high-energy moments made them a great lead-in for the night’s main event.

As the house lights dimmed and the unmistakable theme from Knight Rider filled the venue, the energy in the room soared. The crowd erupted in cheers as Artikal Sound System took the stage, immediately setting the tone for a lively and engaging set. Logan Rex’s crisp and powerful vocals stood out from the first note, effortlessly cutting through the band’s polished instrumentation. The chemistry between the band members was undeniable, creating a tight and cohesive sound that resonated throughout the venue.

Their setlist pulled from both their debut album Welcome to Florida and their latest release Are You Smiling Yet?, giving fans a mix of classic favorites and fresh tracks. Standout performances included “Get Me Out,” “Time,” “Too Stoned,” and “You’re An A**hole,” the latter of which had the crowd enthusiastically singing along. A surprise highlight was their high-energy cover of Paramore’s “Misery Business,” which added a fun, unexpected twist to the night. The peak of the set came with When I Wanna, a personal favorite, as its infectious groove and heartfelt delivery created a show-stopping moment that had the entire venue moving.

Artikal Sound System’s performance at Aisle 5 was nothing short of outstanding. Their energy, musicianship, and ability to connect with the audience reaffirmed why they continue to grow their fanbase. Whether you’re a longtime follower or a newcomer, seeing them live is an experience that leaves you smiling long after the final note.
