Afton Wolfe – “Forgive Yourself”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Afton Wolfe’s song “Forgive Yourself” from his forthcoming album Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus is the thirteenth sign of the zodiac, and a constellation northwest of the Milky Way, and in honor of that, Afton will release 13 songs – one each month leading the the album’s release. Ophiuchus was produced by Afton; engineered by Ryon Westover at Grey Gardens Studio in Nashville; and mixed and mastered by Brett Ryan Stewart at WireBird Productions also in Nashville.
“Forgive Yourself” is Afton Wolfe on vocals; Courtney Santana on vocals; Daniel Seymour on bass; Seth Fox on saxophone; Jake Patterson on guitar; and Madison George on drums. This is a heavy groove with a serious sax, some lavish harmonies and the point comes across as an absolute command – “forgive yourself.” There’s no hesitation.
This song is a personal mantra, because forgiving myself (which is recurrent on this album) is the healthiest thing I do. You just have to know your own heart and understand that you’re still going to make mistakes. I’ve made plenty. – Afton Wolfe
