Dean Zucchero “Biting Through (feat. Jimmy Vivino)”

Americans Highways bring you this premiere of Dean Zucchero’s song “Biting Through” from his forthcoming album Songs for the Sinners, which is set to release on Feb 21. Songs for the Sinners was produced by Dean Zucchero, engineered and mixed by Jake Eckert, and mastered by Kevin Nix.

Musicians on “Biting Through” are Dean Zucchero on lead vocals and bass; Jimmy Vivino on lead and rhythm guitars; Johnny Burgin on second rhythm guitar; and Michael Leasure on drums.

Videography for this video was courtesy of Naomi Stinnett. This configuration with Dean and Jimmy Vivino is masterful deep down electric blues: “Lay down your arms, conflict be your restless charm / Time kills the soul, scattered seeds unsown / I stand alone, but I’m biting through, trying had to get to you.”   Intriguing footage of vines, electricity, and 70’s dancers over the song’s 70’s-like blues foundation render this song and the video context an ultimate purple haze to experience.

I wrote the opening track “Biting Through” in the spirit of Leslie West of Mountain – the featured singer and guitarist is blues ambassador Jimmy Vivino. Lyrically the song embraces the concept of Taoist revelations—even after volumes of persistence, the song’s hero will never win the affections of his beloved. The walls you shield, they must reveal, I’ve broken through…tearing hard to get to you. -.Dean Zucchero
