Branson Anderson – “Shake Your Bangs”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Branson Anderson’s song “Shake Your Bangs” from his forthcoming album. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Chase Ford. “Shake Your Bangs” is Branson Anderson on guitars and vocals; and Chase Ford on drums, bass, and piano.
Hailing from rural Nevada, in the desert county where the Clark County Fair & Rodeo was a major attraction, Branson writes songs crafted through a history of having plenty of open space surrounding him, and plenty of atmosphere for deep breathing and reflection on the meaning of life. But if you thought that would mean he’s written twangy reflections, you’re be wrong. He’s written songs with a touch of darkness and a touch of merriment. “Shake Your Bangs” is a sort of a hoedown blended with a revival atmosphere, electric tones, and a minor key, and the result is one part twisted, one part fuzzy, with a bit of truth sprinkled into the revelrous mix. Or, as Branson puts it:
This is a dystopian love story of sorts. Something like the book 1984. They ended similarly. – Branson Anderson
