We’ve all been in that space where we’re processing a broken heart and a feeling of abandonment. Kylie V offers a fresh take on that overwhelming pain, in a slow paced song of thoughtful, reflective rumination: “I walk a couple miles / Think about myself a little while / I call a couple friends / Cause someone always picks up / I see it in my sleep / Imaginary chase scenes / And they know where I’ll be / They know where I’m hiding / And I don’t hold your cowardice against you / I just wish you’d given me less reason to.”
This lyric video was directed by Jo Gaffney with set design by Angie Williams.
“Year of the Rabbit” is a song I wrote while healing from a breakup and reflecting on my (incredible) friends/support system and my feelings after the fact. I was inspired a lot by Andy Shauf and Sufjan Stevens in the writing and production of this one and it means a lot to me. The track is produced by my great friend Josh Eastman and features us two on most of the instruments, with Jess Jones on drums, Gregory Dent on trumpet, and a handful of friends singing on the outro. – Kylie V
